I had the opportunity to read Escape the Paain to Survive by Katherine Nelson. The story starts off fast and furious with many twists and turns throughout the book. The main character is a lost teenager who is seeking acceptance from anyone who will show her attention. She joins the New Waiver program which allows troubled teenagers between the ages of 15 to 17 to join up with a secret military based program. Although the program sounds like a promis of a future to serve their country, it soon turns into a radical, controlled environment that involves a lot of violence. Without giving away much more of the plot, the main character is able to hook up with some others in the program that get her back on the right track. I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.
This is an amazing book! I couldn't put it down. The story is written in a riveting style, & yet with a depth of sensitivity that makes her characters come alive. I highly recommend this book & give it 5 stars.
Very awesome book! I challenge you to be able to put a down once you start it. As you start reading it , it doesn't take long before you feel like you're there right beside the characters. I enjoyed it so much I hope they make a movie someday
The book was an exciting, easy, and captivating read. Looking forward to the next in the series to see what Sam will do next!
Such a good plot with some good twists and a strong faith-based moral story running throughout. I like the strength and variety of characters with ranging personalities, humor, mystery, anger, hurt and hope. A good read especially for the young generation!
